St. Mullin's Abbey, St. Mullin's, Co. Carlow.

Location - Part of the main complex.

Description and History – This is by far the largest church in the complex and the sadly the most ruined. It must have been very impressive when it was complete. It is a long and narrow medieval rectangular structure measuring 23.3m x 7.2m. Portions of the walls have been demolished and what remains shows evidence of restructuring for both domestic and defensive purposes. The SW corner stands to full height with spiral stairs still visible. There are many interesting features visible on this ruin.

Difficulty – Easy.

A pit in the ruin. I'm not sure of its purpose.

Reconstructed doorway.
